How to Obtain Compact Privileges

Check Eligibility

  • Hold a valid PT or PTA license in your home state (must be a compact member).
  • Have a valid driver's license proving permanent residency in your home state.
  • No active encumbrances or disciplinary actions in the past two years.
  • The state you want to practice in must be a compact member.

Review Fees & Jurisprudence Requirements

  • Each state has different fees and may require passing a jurisprudence exam.
  • Failing to take a required exam can lead to the termination of your compact privilege and disciplinary action.

Pass Required Jurisprudence Exam(s)

  • If required, take and pass the jurisprudence exam.
  • Please note: additional fees may be charged by the jurisdiction to take their state jurisprudence exam.

Apply for Compact Privileges

  • Click "Purchase Now"
  • Log in with your FSBPT ID and password (retrieve credentials if needed).
  • Select the state(s) and verify eligibility.
  • Confirm you've passed all required jurisprudence exams.
  • Pay the applicable fees.

  • Your compact privilege number(s) will be emailed and added to your dashboard.
